The research cluster "Wind" is represented by the Wind Energy Technology Institute (WETI) at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences.

The WETI was founded on 1 November 2010. As a foundation institute, the institute is funded by Flensburg University of Applied Sciences, the Society for Energy and Climate Protection Schleswig-Holstein and a group of companies from the wind industry.  The WETI team is just as active in research as in teaching. National and international cooperation is maintained not only with industry and organisations from the wind energy sector, but also with other universities.

With the international Master's programme "Wind Energy Engineering", WETI offers students from a wide range of engineering disciplines the opportunity to train as wind specialists. WETI also regularly organises lecture series and other events in which knowledge is passed on and made tangible. Student research projects in companies promote cooperation between Flensburg University of Applied Sciences and industrial partners.
