Biography

Kristian Reincke joined the Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (ZNES) at the Europa-Universität Flensburg in 2016. As part of the Department of Systems Integration, his work focuses on energy systems analysis, open data, and international consulting on energy systems planning and capacity building. He was responsible for the Open Power System Data (OPSD) and Development of Energy Education in the Mekong area (DEEM) projects within this framework.

From 2013 to 2016, Kristian Reincke worked at Neas Energy, Aalborg (Denmark). There he focused his work mainly on electricity market analysis in the context of direct marketing of renewable energy.

Kristian Reincke studied industrial engineering with a specialization in energy and environmental management (EUM) at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences (Bachelor) and Europa-Universität Flensburg (Master) from 2007 to 2012. As part of his studies, he spent a semester abroad at the University of the South Pacific, Fiji. During his studies he focused on wind energy and energy system analysis. He completed his internship at Deutsche Windguard in Varel in connection with the preparation of his bachelor thesis in the field of technical testing of wind turbines. As part of his master's thesis at Project Zero, Sønderborg, he analyzed the technical and economic potential of electrical load flexibility in the field of water supply.
