Biography

Torsten Stefan completed his Bachelor Degree in the field of Biotechnology-Process Engineering with a focus on Process Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Flensburg (2009 to 2012). During his studies, Torsten Stefan was involved in two projects that addressed the question of how to obtain biogas from sugar beat. During his internship semester he was able to deepen his knowledge of biotechnology. In his Bachelor thesis work, Torsten Stefan worked on a situ multi-chamber biogas purification biogas reactor.

Since March 2012 Torsten Stefan is involved with the Interreg IVa Project Large Scale Bioenergy Lab. As an employee in the working group Technichal-Economic Optimization of Process Management, Torstan Stefan is especially involved with the regulations of fermentation processes for digestate and gas processessing. Additionally, a special emphasis of Torsten Stefan’s work is focussed on the economic and technical scale reduction in biogas as a contribution to the decentralization of energy supply.
