Mominul Hasan is a research fellow and PhD student at the Department of Energy and Environmental Management (EEM) of Europa-Universitaet Flensburg since 2018. At the EEM department, he lectures in two courses: Solar Energy and Project Management. His PhD research focus is 'the role of electric vehicle and distributed energy storage for integrating renewable energy in developing countries.’ He is expected to finish his PhD in 2022.

Hasan has a bachelor degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Bangladesh. He has more than five years of project development experience in renewable energy, such as grid-connected PV, mini-grid, and smart grid.

In 2016, Hasan moved to Germany for higher study. He accomplished his Master of Engineering in Energy and Environmental Management from Europa-Universitaet Flensburg in 2017. During this study, his thesis was 'evaluation of energy access in mini-grid according to the Multi-Tier Framework of the World Bank.' He performed this study in Indonesia, where the host organization was GIZ.

Performance evaluation of solar PV system, distributed energy storage for renewable energy integration, energy system modelling and hybrid project management in renewable energy are his core research interests.
